Neem and Hypertension

Hypertension or high blood pressure is affecting millions of people across the globe. It is a serious condition which has to be taken care of as it makes it difficult for the heart to pump blood to the body and can also lead to hardening of arteries.

People can suffer from both low as well as high blood pressure.

One of the compounds nimbidin, found in neem is said to have antihistamine effect, which can be a reason for the blood vessels to dilate and thus reduce the blood pressure. Neem leaf extracts have nimbidin and thus are used to manufacture blood pressure controlling medicines and capsules. It has also been scientifically tested as a potent use for producing efficient drugs useful in controlling cholesterol levels, blood clots and heart irregularities.
