Benefits of Neem
Mosquito born diseases are one of the greatest threats to mankind. Malaria, dengue, are few to name diseases that are caused by mosquito bite. Millions of dollars are spend on these diseases each year by each nation. But in spite of spending money there are new and more cases of mosquito born diseases because mosquitoes are becoming resistant to most of the chemicals. Thus eradication of mosquito is the only solution to overcome the diseases.
This small insect can come into your room from a very small crack. If you want to eradicate it with chemicals then these chemicals and sprays may harm you, your family or pets as well. So you have to opt for more organic and natural way of killing the mosquitoes and its larva. First and the foremost thing is do not allow the water to stand close to your home as the mosquito lays eggs there. Secondly use natural mosquito repellent to keep the insect away from you.

Neem is one of the strongest natural mosquito repellent. Chemicals in neem has insect repelling properties.
How can Neem be Used as Natural Mosquito Repellent?
Rub Neem Oil
You can rub neem oil on your skin that will keep the mosquitoes away. But never take the neem oil inside as it is poisonous.
Burn Neem Oil Lamp
If not rubbing, then you can burn neem oil lamp as incense. Burn the lamp in the room when no one is there. Let it burn but keep a check on this. After it has burnt completely close the doors for at least two hours. After two hours open the doors for the remaining fumes to go out. The fumes are strong enough for mosquitoes. Good

Studies Proving Neem as Natural Mosquito Repellents
The Malaria Research Centre of Delhi, India in 1994 has performed a test on this. They took kerosene lamps with 1%
neem oil and burned the lamps in the living room from 6 PM to 6 AM. The protection against anopheles species was more than against culex.
A study at a field station the Malaria Research Centre in Ranipur, Hardwar, India, in 1995 was conducted by a mix of 2% neem oil mixed in coconut oil to check if it works like mosquito repellent or not. It was proved that it is a natural mosquito repellent and gave more protection against against anophelines.
The Malaria Research Centre of Delhi, India in 1996 had done a field trial by burning kerosene lamps in villages containing 1% neem oil from dusk to dawn in living rooms. It was then found that it has actually kept the mosquitoes away and incidents of malaria were also reduced to considerable number.
Findings
Neem oil is more effective against species of mosquito causing malaria. So it actually depends upon with which species you are dealing with.
Neem oil when mixed with coconut oil is more effective than any other oil.
If you want neem oil to work then use it correctly with coconut oil. Along with this cover yourself, wear full sleeve and leg clothes. Use mosquito net at night while sleeping.
